Baking Soda: Does It Really Whiten the Teeth?
28 March 2012
For ages, many people have believed that baking soda is a good tooth whitening agent. However, the truth of the matter is it doesn’t really do the trick in bleaching the teeth. Therefore, people who rely upon it to restore the pearly white teeth they once had only do so in vain. This is because baking soda is not a bleaching agent but an abrasive. It only removes the plaque off the teeth. Furthermore, when used continuously, it can damage the enamel of the tooth and make it prone to cavity and decay. Therefore, the next time someone tells you to bleach your teeth using baking soda, correct them.
