More Women Suffer from Adult Acne

Boys suffer from acne scars more often than girls do, but women suffer more from adult onset acne.

As far as adult acne treatments go, there are just as many as there are for teens. Treating acne is not much different, it’s just different causes to combat.

With adults, it could be hormones, but with teens it could be hormones. The difference? Different hormones! Everyone thinks that acne comes from poor hygiene. This is incorrect. It’s mostly caused from excess oil, a closing of the hair duct, and then infection that occurs because the duct is closed.

Regardless, talking to a dermatologist is the first step that should be taken for stubborn acne.
