Secret Information?

There are fewer and fewer actual secrets in the world. With new technologies and instant communication it’s just plain getting harder to keep things truly hidden. On the other hand, there is a lot of what I call secret information, because it is unknown to the majority of people and there are those who would like to keep it that way.

One small example: The common use of an “open house” to sell real estate. Home sellers think this is good marketing for their home, when in fact it is meant primarily as a marketing tool for the real estate agent that hosts it. Few houses are sold this way, but a lot of prospect’s phone numbers are gathered by real estate agents. Every industry has secrets like these.
