A Portable Camping Heater Makes Camping More Pleasant

When I was ten I learned the value of a portable camping heater; and I haven’t been camping without one since.  As I packed my sleeping bag for the scout camping trip, my father asked if I wanted to take the old Coleman heater with me.  “Nah, I don’t need it Dad, how cold can it get?  It’s summertime!”, I said.  Well as most boys do, I gained a little experience that summer.  We left a bucket of water outside the tent in case the fire got out of hand.  After a long evening of ghost stories and smores, we retired to sleep.  And it got cold.  Bone chillingly cold.  When you sleep on the ground, even in a sleeping bag in a tent, the heat is quickly wicked away from your body.  When I woke up the next morning the fire bucket was frozen solid- ever since them I never pitch a tent without a camping heater set up to keep the tent toasty.
