Close Call for the Capitals
As the Southeast Division’s leaders, the Washington Capitals had a close call when their superstar Left-Winger, Alex Ovechkin went into the boards shoulder-first the other night. At 60 points, Ovechkin is clearly one of the team’s strongest assets and has been a constant fixture where the NHL Highlights are concerned.Rumors of potentially making the team’s Injured Reserve surfaced today when Ovechkin didn’t make an appearance at the team’s practice. When the team’s coach was asked about this, he mentioned that Ovechkin had the day off to “heal,” but in the same breath assured all in attendance that the star was fine, possibly just a little stiff.Let’s hope Boudreau (the coach) is right… because without Ovechkin, the team might have a tough time, morally, getting anywhere in the playoffs.
