Report of the Grand National
Comply or Die and King Johns Castle seemed to be the joint favourites at the 2008 Grand National at Aintree Racecourse. Comply or Die did actually beat King Johns Castle, however, by about four lengths. Who was the jockey of the winner? An Irish jockey called Timmy Murphy, who didn’t take any grand national tips from anyone else to lead him to first place. Comply or Die was trained by David Pipe and is nine years old. He had actually tried to win the Grand National eleven times previously, but this time seemed to do everything right to get to first place.
